Sometimes test writing can be humorous

From a friend at another med school’s fb status:

dear xxxxxxx med: if you put a question in a final about the best place to look your femoral artery, please don’t be surprised if everyone starts touching themselves.

It made me chuckle….and then try finding it too.

Side effect

Note to self, stop studying in bed. The benefit of comfort is vastly offset by the tradeoff of accidentally falling asleep and wasting a bunch of time with exams coming up.

Done.

Not making this up, I swear

Genitourinary anatomy exam today. Prof was showing slides on bladders and ureters, when a student asks if the test could be paused for a moment.

He needed to go take a piss.

I think they’re onto us

I used to remember half jokingly during undergrad that for multiple choice tests, if you have to guess “the answer is always c”. Lately, on my quizzes, I’ve noticed that most of the multiple choice answers are a or b.

So much for that.

Peace of mind

Going into a unit knowing well in advance that there is no end of unit exam and simply a year end test is great for spirits.

And terrible for study motivation.

…I don’t think I’ve been to class all week.

Standard deviation

I had two recent exams. The first I studied a large amount because of how important the exam was according to last year’s classes. The next  I just crammed a few days before because of lack of time. Both exams I got smack middle of the class average.

soooooo I guess the lesson is that I don’t need to try to study as much?

A sure sign

You can always tell when it’s the night before an exam based off the sudden spike in FB status updates and activities from classmates.

Some med school version of Murphy’s Law

Spend 12 hrs memorizing drug mechanisms of antiarrhythmics, no questions on exam. Disregard 1 lecture on congenital heart defects, there go like 6 marks I’ll never see again.
….Sigh

Talk about good timing

I love how fuckyeahmedicalstuff wrote a few articles on heart disease the night before my exam.

I love how I can also understand it…looks like this ‘studying’ thing is paying off :P

Rock bottom

You know you’re too used to medical school life when what you look forward to post-exam laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and sleep.
